"Exceptional site and lovely beaches & swimming pools with good restaurants"

The fact that, despite the heat, rooms were not supplied with drinking water & this had to be ordered from room service at $5 a small bottle. We had just arrived from staying at the Hamilton Princess hotel in Bermuda &, as is normal for luxury hotels of this standard, that had no problem in supplying drinking water to guests free of charge.

"The hotel is located very close to the beach, you can also use the outdoor and indoor pool. The indoor pool is especially nice when the weather is colder. The price also includes a nice wellness. It is great to have the option to buy lunch and dinner. All the food was excellent."

"Het hotel is een fantastisch groot complex met een fraaie afwerking. De kamer was ruim en schoon, badkamer en douche prima. Zwembad prima. Uitzicht kamer over kuststrook."

De reservering was niet direct bekend bij inchecken, dit gaf vertraging. De wifi viel tegen, de TV had slechts een paar lokale kanalen die werkten.

"Heel fijn hotel, prachtig, ruime, gerenoveerde kamer. Heerlijk bad. Mooie rustige omgeving en prachtige ontbijtzaal. Aanrader!"

"We hadden een villa met uitzicht op de zee. Zeer ruim en mooi. Personeel was vriendelijk, op de strandwacht na, en het eten was lekker. De locatie is ook erg goed. De sfeer in het hotel is goed"

Helaas mocht je niet zwemmen in de zee en het zwembad was te warm.

Couldn’t find any ramp which could be wheel chair friendly. A ramp could be introduced for ease of moving luggage’s and for elderly people.

"Accomodatie was in orde. Ons 5 persoonshuisje was OK, hield niet echt over met een slaapbank voor 1 persoon in de woonkamer, maar OK. Het is op zich op een mooi terrein gelegen en het personeels is prima. Wij probeerden dagelijks een rustige plek te vinden om te zitten aan de zee. Dat was altijd even zoeken in de drukte."

Maar hier nog een keer naar toe? Nee: de WiFi is gewoon slecht. Het idee dat wij vooraf hadden dat het een vrij rustig complex betrof, bleek onterecht. Dit complex is onderdeel van meerdere mega campings. Dus zoek je rust, ga hier niet heen. Het merendeel van de gasten betreft ook echt campingvolk. Veel Nederlander en Duitsers. Daarvoor reisden wij niet af naar deze plek in Kroatië. Betalen voor ligbedden en parasols, echt waar? Voor een 4 sterren complex! Verder, de winkel op het terrein is erg duur. Veel duurder dan de supermarkt, die 2,5 km verderop licht van hetzelfde concern. Niet heen gaan dus.

"I love this family friendly vibe! There is a pool for kids, adults with swim up bar and another quieter relax pool for adults only. The shows were good- the circus show and the fire show were my favorites. Everyone from the front desk to servers to housekeeping were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, you have a choice in the evening between the buffet and restaurants."

It took us a few days to figure out what was happening at the resort as our Spanish was so limited.

"Arjuna Villa ligt op een prachtige plek boven de zee, die hier woest is waardoor je overal de golven hoort, een heerlijk geluid. Er is een prachtig zwembad dat heerlijk koel is en perfect schoon. Je zwemt als het ware boven de golven. De kamers zijn mooi gemaakt en hebben allemaal een ruim terras. We hadden een vraag i.v.m. beperkte mobiliteit en kregen een prima gelegen kamer. Het terrein is prachtig en de verzorging door Mina is perfect. Vragen en het wordt geregeld."

Het is denk ik handig om bij aankomst aan de gasten te vertellen of er automatisch dagelijks wordt schoongemaakt of dat dat gevraagd moet worden en of er dagelijks schone handdoeken worden gebracht.

"Direct aan strand en zee. Ochtend vroeg en namiddag wandelen langs de kust, aangenaam zeewater temperatuur, heerlijk."

"Great pools, no rush to grab a lounger in the morning, comfy bed, good shower, excellent location right in the middle of The Gap. The crazy golf course was superb! Gardens were large and well kept."

Bar was expensive so no-one really used it. Pure Ocean restaurant was just ok. Apartment was a bit tired in places. Felt it was expensive for what it was but worth paying the extra for pool/garden view.

"두번째방문인데 초4가되니까 즐길수있는 물놀이 액티비티가 다양해서 너무 만족스러웠어요 슬라이드, 포인트브레이크 등이 좋았구요 직원분, 클럽메이트 모두가 너무친절합니다!! 가족모두 즐겁게 놀다갑니다^^"

주변에 식당이없다보니 골드카드로 갔는데 식사를 그나마 괜찮은건 마젤란이었는데 3박동안 가려니 너무 질리더라구요 사이판pic처럼 좀더 다양한 레스토랑이 있었으면 좋겠어요

"Echt alles, nog nooit in een hotel geweest waar alles zo fantastisch werd verzorgd. Prachtig strand. De service en vriendelijkheid. Overal is aan gedacht, s”ochtends liggen al nieuwe handdoeken klaar op de bedjes op het strand, de parasols worden zo gezet dat je de hele dag schaduw kunt hebben, iedere keer gekoeld water bij je strandbedje. De bedjes staan uit elkaar voor privacy. Je huurauto parkeren voor de deur, fijne restaurantjes op prima rijafstand. Een gevulde koelkast met allerlei complimentary drankjes, zelfs een ijsemmer met welkomchampagne bij aankomst. De inrichting van het strandrestarant zo sfeervol. De tennisbanen, de fitness de lessen. Tot in de kleinste details geregeld, persoonlijk, fijne sfeer, grote kamers, vriendelijkheid van iedereen zelfs met de honden van buurtbewoners werd goed omgegaan."

"Centraal gelegen met mooi zwembad op korte afstand van het vulkaanmeer en nagenoeg direkt in het centrum. Het hotel had een uitgebreid en goed ontbijtbuffet."

Relatief weinig echt goede restaurants in Panajachel te vinden

"The rooms were very clean and the property overall was well maintained. Our rooms were seaside and the sunrise and sunset was quite a spectacular experience!"

I wish that we could access the beach from the property.

"Die Lage ist top. Das Angebot kostenlos mit dem Bus nach Insbruck zu fahren ist grossartig. Wellness toll. Abendessen lecker."

Parkeren was lastig, omdat het erg druk was. Verder geen klachten.

"Ubicación excelente, el personal muy amable. Las habitaciones muy cómodas. El personal es realmente muy amable y sabe tratar muy bien al huésped"

En el gimnasio no funcionaban las maquinas. La habitación está bien es limpia y cómoda pero se podría actualizar un poco la decoración. Por ser un resort en el precio podría estar incluido el desayuno

"I had never been to an all inclusive resort before and was sceptical and personally probably will never do it again but nothing to do with the Bareclo, simply my preference but the resort was totally amazing considering the price. I had one of the bungalows which has large vey well decorated and very comfortable likewise the bathroom. Considering the size of the resort the WiFi was excellent . I never used the pool which was huge but instead the beach and swam several times The beach is stunning and spotlessly clean as to the gardens they are stunning and so well kept. The staff were so friendly and helpful especially so the ones in the dining room I have never seen such a volume of food being served ( and consumed !) in such vast qualities and the staff there in my view were so patient considering what they were dealing with! Overall I cannot fault the resort in any major way you get amazing value for money … congratulations to Barcelo"

The checking in process is very unwieldy on arrival I joined a queue of at least 50 people I got there in the early afternoon and they simply would not let anyone in to their room before 3 pm And surely some of rooms were really and why allow check ins as was available . This is not the first time I have come across this attitude The resort is large and at first it was difficult to find your bungalow as it’s not overly well signposted The was an entertainment lady around the pool screaming down a microphone … why is that necessary ? Overall it was a great stay Well done Barcelo

Check air conditioner operation before sleeping! We down graded to beach front from water bungalow but didnt get discount or reimbursement from booking dot com. :( Had noisy neighouring resort from parties over 2 days.

"De huisjes waar je in verbleef zijn in mijn ogen perfect! Lekker bed met ruimte badkamer. Daarbij een koelkastje, waterkoker en een broodrooster. Dus je kunt ook je eigen ontbijtje maken. Daarbij een fijn terras om buiten te zitten."

"The hotel is great and in an amazing location which is right inside the airport. Staff were polite and amazing, great buffet breakfast, there is mini zoo which had wildlife such as monkeys, crocodile, tortoise, parrot, ostriches, peacocks etc. The rooms and facilities was great and it was a great stay. They provided free shuttle to the airport which is a bonus."

The pool could do with a bit of cleaning.

At that price I expected a ceiling fan ,especially with the high humidity, and a hot shower , even under a black solar bag . And a linen change should have happened, after a few hot and humid nights , the sheets become greasy and unpleasant to sleep on .

de faciliteiten hebben wel wat liefde nodig (vooral het afgekleurde hout overal op de terrassen, in de bar, enz.), het ziet er minder goed uit dan op de foto's. Ook behoorlijk duur (ik ben niet overtuigd van de prijs-kwaliteit, maar alles op de Seychellen is duur natuurlijk), ook ver gelegen van het stadje of andere activiteiten maar voor ons was dit minder een probleem

Ook behoorlijk duur (ik ben niet overtuigd van de prijs-kwaliteit, maar alles op de Seychellen is duur natuurlijk), ook ver gelegen van het stadje of andere activiteiten maar voor ons was dit minder een probleem

"Absolutely gorgeous location, great facilities and stunning views!"

"The villa had great privacy, beautiful landscaping, a good layout for our group. It was well-equipped with essentials for cooking/serving. The salt pool was perfect for cooling off after a hike. It was just big enough and always seemed to be at the right temperature. We were delighted by fireflies, tree frogs, bats, local birds, and even a shy ginger cat that wandered past once or twice."

THE ROAD- while we expected a rough access road from reading previous reviews, the construction during our stay detoured us through the banana plantation over an intolerably (for anyone with neck/back problems) rough track that was 4x longer. While the ocean (not a swimming beach) is close enough to hear, there is not much view. It is a peek from one corner of the pool deck, and the upper bedroom. But again, wonderful privacy. Also of note- there are no bug screens on the windows. It was perhaps an assumption on our part with the newer construction, but the mosquitoes did cause some distress, especially for one member of our group. Bring bug spray, After-Bite (anti-itch), and Benadryl if you are prone to reactions.
