Luxe tenten in Nieuw-Zeeland

The road to get to the lodge was in terrible shape.

"Great host, with good energy, who picked me up from quay. His accommodation was only 10 minutes away. I slept in a tent with a very good, firm mattress. Not soft. In the afternoon it can be hot in the tent, so this makes it difficult to do a nap. A camping stove is available, so this was very welcomed. Onside a nice relaxing beach, where you can enjoy the water with paddling, just swimming or gaze at the ocean. During the night this area was quiet. Bathroom is near the house and supplies cold and hot water. He knows where to get good food, and cheap transport. A mosquito net may be handy next time. I really recommend this place."

"Niet alleen het verblijf zelf, maar ook alle andere activiteiten overtroffen onze verwachtingen. Zo werd het eten op een hele bijzondere manier geserveerd en is de spa heel erg mooi ingericht. De locaties waar je kon eten waren ook heel erg mooi en hadden altijd iets extra's zoals een mooi vuur. Via WhatsApp was Adrian heel erg goed bereikbaar en we werden heel erg snel geholpen bij vragen. De accommodatie vraagt om hele relaxte dagen, we zaten letterlijk in onze eigen bubbel."

The food at dinner could be much better - like simple and fresh. Our guide on game drives delivered at the end but was not inspiring or dedicated

De afstand om naar de badkamer te lopen was snachts in de regen wat ver.

De weg naast het terrein is ‘s morgens al vrij druk bereden door vrachtwagens, ‘s nachts was er nog lang lawaai uit andere tenten, de pomp van de vijver maakt ‘‘s nachts heel veel geluid, er zijn dingen aan vervanging toe zoals de badjassen en de ligstoelen.

"Hele mooie plek aan het water. Vriendelijk personeel en een relaxte sfeer. Je pakt zelf je drankjes bij de bar en dat gaat op vertrouwen. Heerlijk ontbijt en eten!"

Het was echt prachtig! Tip: een klein koelkastje in de tent.

It had to be expected but the rain falling on the tent made it hard to sleep, otherwise everything is good !

"Very nice view onto the valley and the volcano. We were watching the stars and shooting stars from the very comfortable bed. Although it was cold outside, the blankets and heater keep you warm. The jacuzzi was nice as well."

The water in the jacuzzi is warm but not hot, but it wasn’t bad and totally acceptable for being in the middle of nowhere.

"We zijn voor de 3de keer in Kokha Moya geweest. Telkens is Lyton onze gids/chauffeur. Hij is een topper!"
