Campings in Oeganda

"We had a great stay at Moonys! Fernando is an amazing host who made everything possible. He even picked us up or organized transport when we needed it. We immediatly felt more like family than guests. The chalet is a beautiful place: clean and neat, and in the middle of nowhere. It is very quiet and a perfect place to relax."

There's nothing we didnt like. However you should consider transport: if you dont come with your own car, you depend on Fernando and you need to count in money, time and organization for commuting to wherever you wanna go. Taxis might not go all the way up to the chalet because its a dirt road. There's no supermarkets or restaurants close enough to walk to.

De hygiëne in de cabins. Ook bij een meerdaags verblijf wordt er niet schoongemaakt. We vonden het geen probleem om de boel zelf bij te houden, maar schoonmaakmiddelen ontbraken. Het zou al helpen als elke cabin zou beschikken over een bezem en een wisser voor de badkamervloer.

Beside the accommodation we booked a cacao workshop and cacao farm visit, which connected us with the land and surroundings even more."

Le campement est calme , la tente est tres confortable et les parties communes toilettes et douche sont tres propres. Nous avons pu cuisiner dans un bel espace en écoutant le chant de la nature....nous recommandons cette belle experience humaine et nature."

If you are sensitive to cigarette smoke this would not be your best option.

"Es war genau die kleine Auszeit, die ich gebraucht habe. Der Wagen war gemütlich, sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet – man hat sofort gemerkt, dass hier mit Herz gearbeitet wird. Besonders schön war die ruhige Atmosphäre auf dem Platz. Ich habe die Stille und das Meeresrauschen sehr genossen, konnte endlich einmal richtig ausschlafen und bei langen Spaziergängen über die Insel abschalten. Abends auf der Terrasse zu sitzen, zu grillen und den Sonnenuntergang zu beobachten, war jedes Mal ein Highlight. Vielen Dank auch für deine freundliche Art und die unkomplizierte Kommunikation – das hat den Aufenthalt noch angenehmer gemacht. Ich komme sehr gern wieder und empfehle den „Lieblingsplatz“ mit bestem Gewissen weiter."

Das einzige kleine Manko war die etwas dünne Matratze im Bauwagrn.

I would like more lighting on the street.

Beetje op een doorreis lokatie. Maar dat is ook weer positief.

- aanvankelijk voor ons wat onwennig, het kan bij aankomst wat sjofel overkomen, het oogt een beetje rommelig of vervallen (had iets weg van een studentenhuis) maar als je je weg gevonden hebt valt het best mee - sommige materialen in de gemeenschappelijke delen waren wel echt afgeleefd

First of all please do not rely on the reviews here. The most one I think are fake reviews. This is now the real situation at this so called Nature "hotel". Flies flies flies. Everywhere thousand of flies. Flies in the rooms, flies in the restaurant everywhere you will have the flies. This is an indicator about the bad hygiene in this hotel. I have booked to so called King Room with Mountain view. It sounds very friendly but the reality is totally a horror. The room is very dirty and most issue it is wet and everywhere you see mold. When you enter the room you smell the moldy air. Absolutely unhealthy enviroment. Even the bedding is moldy and wet. The floor is wet. The walls are wet. We have to use hair dryer to have a little bit dry feeling when we sleep. But we could not sleep very well. Very terrible situation. Beside the moldy enviroment the room cleanless is terrible. Everywhere died flies and their feces. Stains on bedding and hairs. The bathroom was so dirty that we have avoided to take a shower. The toilet was not cleaned. The breakfast was consist of only rice and noodle and some unfresh cakes. On the food there are a lot of flies. They have a menu but most ones are not available. So we ate some noodle but was very low quality. Now my frustration. I have paid 1.4mRP for one night. In Indonesia you can stay in a very good 4 star Hotel for this price. I have requested a refund but the owner/staff was very unfriendly and not collaborative. For 200kRP you can stay in Bromo/Tosari in every homestay which is more better than this kind. So dont rely on the pics and reviews. The guys are cheating in a high level. Please be really careful to book this hotel. I have already claimed to booking.com. "Het verblijf in Milkhouse cottage in Udawalawe: Wat een paradijsje. De cottage is simpel, super schoon. Heerlijke douche (ook al is er geen warm water). We waren de eerste gebruikers van de airco. Isuru is een super lieve en goede host. Doet werkelijk alles voor je om het verblijf goed te maken. We hebben genoten van de heerlijke Sri Lankaanse lunches en diner, gemaakt door de moeder van Isuru. Echt geweldig lekker. Vanochtend zijn we op Safari geweest in Udawalawe park, geregeld door Isuru. We kregen een heerlijk uitgebreid ontbijtje mee voor onderweg! Isuru heeft nu 1 cottage, maar zou graag willen uitbreiden. Als je een verblijf zoekt in de buurt van Udawalawe, dan beveel ik Milkhouse cottage ten zeerste aan!!!"

"Fantastische Locatie en heel leuk en prettig personeel. De camping is nog een beetje in de opbouw maar dat ongemak werd ruimschoots overtroffen door de gastvriendelijkheid en de lokatie."

Nog in de opbouw, er was geen douche op de camping maar wel een luxieuze bij de eigenaar thuis 300 meter verderop. Deze nodigde ons ook nog ff thuis uit voor een hapje wat deze tegenvaller ombuigde in een heel leuke en gastvrije bedoeling.
