Resorts in Zimbabwe

"Just generally one of those special places that will stick in my memory forever. A collection of pretty little cabins by the beach surrounded by palm trees with hammocks slung between them for whiling away the days. With only the sounds of birds and waves. Where everyone just hangs out and chats, the staff, the other guests, the extremely interesting and gregarious owner Gregory (no pun intended). I could spend a week here just forgetting about the outside world. The various arrangements (airport transfer, transfer back to town, activities) all went smoothly as well. Which is my no means guaranteed in this part of the world."

Not much but if I went again I'd maybe pay a little more for the room with ensuite shower rather than sharing a communal shower with non locking door. Obviously this is budget accommodation in West Africa so it's of the rustic eco lodge variety rather than the western style hotel room variety in case anyone is expecting that.

"Mr. Emad and his team is very polite and respectful & efficient also when I reached there the room was not ready at the check-in time but he arrange and ready the room with in half hour."

Due to Eid holiday the room was not ready & clean at check in time.

A bit convoluted to get around the property until you get used to it

"We liked the city/village where the hotel was in. We liked the pool and the fact that we had it for ourselves. the breakfast was great, staff was really nice."

Parkeren was lastig, omdat het erg druk was. Verder geen klachten.

"The hotel is great and in an amazing location which is right inside the airport. Staff were polite and amazing, great buffet breakfast, there is mini zoo which had wildlife such as monkeys, crocodile, tortoise, parrot, ostriches, peacocks etc. The rooms and facilities was great and it was a great stay. They provided free shuttle to the airport which is a bonus."

The pool could do with a bit of cleaning.

"We zijn hier al eens eerder geweest. Toen was het vies en oud. Het was super fijn. Om te ontdekken dat de huisjes gerenoveerd zijn en dat het schoon was."

"Nice calm resort well eqiupped spa, large rooms, great food, drink as well.. What is on top level is staff, in particular super nice lady at reception, always ready to help, moving you immediatelly to relaxing mood on arrival. Hope landlord is well aware having such a treasure in the team."

"Wij hadden de benedenverdieping van de Villa. In één woord: heerlijk! De accommodatie is ruim, schoon en voorzien van alle gemakken. Het zwembad is heerlijk waar de kids zich ook goed in vermaakt hebben. De omgeving is niet erg toeristisch, maar met een beetje goed zoeken zijn er diverse mooie wandelroutes in de omgeving. De host is erg vriendelijk en staat voor je klaar."

"De ligging was perfect voor een weekje wintersport. Binnen 10 minuten was je in Kaprun, en met 15 minuten in Zell am See. Het appartement was keurig en voorzien van alles wat je maar nodig kon hebben (inclusief airfryer!). Bedden lagen prima, en het formaat van het appartement was groot genoeg voor 2 a 3 personen."

De douchecabine was voorzien van o.a. een regendouche, maar deze werkte helaas niet helemaal goed waardoor we de handdouche hebben moeten gebruiken. Scheen te komen door het vele kalk in het water.

Het is een sportcomplex. Dus niet heel gezellig. Maar dat wisten we bij het boeken.

"A very nice and clean room. It's newly renovated. It was -8°C outside during our vacation, so we didn't even always turn on the heating because the apartment was so warm. The room has all the necessary kitchen utensils (cutlery, dishes, scissors, a corkscrew) and bathroom essentials (combs, a hairdryer, and even feminine hygiene products). Location is good, it takes about 10-15 minutes to get to ski elevator No.1. The hotel proposes 20% discount at Zjaj. It was the cheapest one. Also the can wax and sharpen the renting board 👍🏻 The apartment complex is connected with spa center Mamababa, so you even don’t need to go outside"

The location is different with booking address. We were trying to find it about 1 hour. You have to put in maps “National restaurant”, the reception is located in the same building, but the left door. The room doesn’t have mountain view, you have the view to the main road and roof from the downstairs restaurant. Since the restaurant is downstairs it was noise some nights Spa complex is a little bit expensive - 5000 dinares per person, the hotel in 200 m propose prise 3000 dinares

"Prachtige botanische tuin, mooie ruime kamers en schoon. Vriendelijk personeel, maken graag een praatje bij het diner. Mooi restaurant met geweldige curry’s op de kaart en in de ochtend een top ontbijt. Mooie gym, veel parkeergelegenheid. Ruimte en rust en een lekker bad in de badkamer. Tip: ga paardrijden of moutainbiken in Mlilwane park, 15 minuutjes rijden."

Ligbedden bij zwembad voelen dun aan, snel een houten rug. Een dikker matras lijkt mij fijner.

"- Mooie hut in een prachtige bergomgeving; - Zeer goedkope accomodatie; - Ontbijt en avondeten te nuttigen in plaatselijk restaurant (kleine meerprijs); - 15 minuten rijden naar nationaal park Prokletije;"

- Eigenlijk niets. Verwacht uiteraard geen grote luxe.. maar dat weet je op voorhand. Een kleine tv had misschien leuk geweest.

"Lo que más me gustó de mi estancia en la cabaña fue la tranquilidad en el sector donde esta ubicada, por una parte esta cerca del centro de Punta de Tralca, pero a la vez esta emplazada en medio de un mini bosque de eucaliptos lleno de tranquilidad, además el lugar de las cabañas es precioso, lleno de jardines, áreas verdes y una hermosa fuente con nenúfares"

lo que podría mejorar es el hecho de que en la cabaña en la que me quedé había un gran ventanal el cual no tenía cortinas, por lo que la habitación se iluminaba mucho demasiado temprano, además de que la cama, aunque es de dos plazas, es más pequeña

Effectively ruined all our future holidays because nothing will ever compare 😅

"I’m fond of fine dining but for a little fella from Tennessee I would have loved some bacon/ham, home fried potatoes and eggs. Maybe just a hash of some kind. And the menu, which was delicious, was limited. I love a good tuna sandwich, you provide one, but that’s more my cold cut for lunch rather than my breakfast to get started with."

Only things that you couldn’t have done anything about. But I will say that on our stay one of the employees walked by and asked about our day. When hearing about how sunburned we had gotten and wished for aloe a fresh cut cup came delivered while we were away. That’s not a compliment or a complaint. That’s above all expectation.
