Hostels in Gambia

"Great helpful staff, freshly cleaned room. I arrived earlier than planned and they quickly swept and mopped the room and made up my bed while I waited. Super central location. Showers were hot. Got given a roll of toilet paper on check in which seems like a great solution to previous negative reviews saying toilet paper ran out and wasn't topped up. Great value for money"

There was no common area to hang out in like a lounge or courtyard or kitchen, but even still I made new friends just in my dorm room, in the corridor and in the bathroom while brushing my teeth. Probably not ideal for light sleepers as there is a karaoke bar nearby but I really enjoyed being able to hear all the singing!

Bepaalde backpackers zijn niet bepaald kind vriendelijk. Het hostel kan hier echter niets aan doen.

De waterdruk van de douche mocht iets harder, verder alles goed geregeld!

"Schoon rustig hostal. Met gebruik van keuken en wasmachine. Airco. Contant gepast betalen. Kreeg naam voor een driver/gids: smooth operators, heel goed bevallen."

De ligging was verder uit het centrum dan ik ingeschat had. Openbaar vervoer is niet zo best.

"Ik kon ter plekke op-plussen naar een huisje, zo ver mogelijk van de centrale ruimten. Dit heeft me alle rust gegeven, die ik van deze plek verwachtte. Ik heb heerlijke wandelingen gemaakt, echt geweldig!! Het eten was TOP. Er zijn veel mogelijkheden voor excursies, o.a. naar de gorilla's."

In het weekend was er 's avonds een zang-optreden, van 17-21 uur. dat is tamelijk lang en lukt dan ook niet om dat uit te zitten. Wat ik vervelend vond, omdat er erg weinig gasten waren in dat weekend. het zingen en de muziek kon ik zeker waarderen. In de buurt is een steengroeve, met de wind uit die hoek, waren de industriële geluiden op de camping wel te horen.

It was like £10. Nothing to complain about.

"Fijne hostel. Netjes en schoon. Gezellig en geen nachtelijke overlast. Heb heerlijk geslapen de nachten. Ontbijt was top!"

"Handy to bus stops and restaurants and s great bake/bread shop in front. The security is super and the people running it really nice. I like that they have soft towels and a bath mat in each room. All the extra touches to make it homey. Also there is a great laundry mat right next door. I have stayed there several times.(lol at the hostel. Not the laundry mat)"

Het centrum is wat ver gelegen. Bus gaat een tot 2 keer per uur.

"Gezellig, goede faciliteiten (douches en wc), schoon, keuken ruim en gezellig en schoon, fijn dat er heel veel koelkasten zijn die een kamer indeling hebben: lekker geordend en overzichtelijk, fijn gratis kant en klare koffie in de ochtend, fijn dat de schoenen uit moeten: lekker schoon binnen. Meerdere comfortabele zit plekken om te chillen. Vrouwen kamer ook fijn en knus"

Kan niet iets bedenken

"De locatie was geweldig we hadden een prive kamer met douch met geweldig uitzicht. Het personeel is geweldig aan de receptie die ons heeft geholpen met de was service en boven een leuke man aan de bar waar je kan genieten van prachtig uitzicht."

De kamers zijn wat gehorig. Maar als je kijkt naar de prijs en het uitzicht van deze kamer maakt dat echt niets uit. Ik ga zeker nog eens terug.

The tap at the kitchen is likking while open. Somw floor tales must be fixed. One of the light bulbs needs replacement.

"Perfect location within a couple of minutes' walk from the main train station (and a big mall with a supermarket open until late), surprisingly quiet for being in the very centre of the city, exceptionally clean. Great value for money. Very satisfied, thank you so much!"

Toilet room very cold in winter but you don't spend a long time in it anyway, lol. Mattress could be a bit better but nothing that prevented a good night's sleep.

Food shops & markets in the district are regionally expensive. The area for basic cold food storage and microwave reheating of food needs a serious update. For the number of guests the refrigerator is way to small. The small microwave does not fit common delivery food packages, or a standard dinner plate for reheating.

"Heel vriendelijk personeel dat je helpt met alles. De kamer en badkamer was proper en het bed comfortabel. Via het hostel kan je e-scooters huren en ze kunnen ook transfers voor je regelen. Echt een aan te raden hostel met een gezellige sfeer."
