"We hebben erg genoten van ons verblijf bij Rosy. Toen wij hier verbleven waren we de enige gasten. Rosy was een erg goede gastheer. Door problemen met het transport kwamen we pas aan om 3u in de nacht. Desondanks verwelkomde Rosy ons toen we aankwamen. Hij heeft ontbijt voor ons voorzien en hielp ons waar mogelijk. We deden ook samen de hike van de pico de fogo. Rosy is een erg gepassioneerde en geduldige gids. Hij spreekt heel vlot engels dus we konden gemakkelijk vragen stellen. Toen we vertrokken zorgde hier er ook voor om een goedkoop transfer naar Sao Filipe te voorzien. Er is geen warm water in de douche, maar dat was voor ons niet echt een probleem."

"Great location in the center of Portela village in Cha des Calderas. This is an extraordinary place! Rosie's friendly and helpful host arranged for me to take a guide to the crater of the Fogo volcano. After climbing, Rosie gave me a delicious lunch. The stunning sunset and sunrise in this amazing place will forever remain in my memory! There are many hiking trails inside the caldera itself, it was safe to stay for another day."

"As soon as we reached the Caldeira with the 'aluger collectiv' from Sao Filipe we already realised that the 2 nights we booked with Rose Silva was way too short... The environment was really breathtaking! Our very friendly and English speaking host Rosy was waiting for us when we arrived at the guesthouse in Portela. He showed us not only the room we booked, but also explained about the Chã das Caldeiras and things we could do during our stay. The accompanying restaurant is nearby. Highlight was of course the ascent of the vulcano on the 2nd day. Rosy was our guide and during the ascent he gave us much information the history of the vulcanos. He climbed the Pico de Fogo over 3000 times so you can say he is highly experienced! It took us 3 hours to reach the top and the descent (the longer route) took 2,5 hours. This was a magnificent experience! Unfortunately we were not able to stay longer to visit other places in the caldeira, because we had a tight schedule."

"Comfy room with a private big bathroom for one night. They woke up early just to make us 5:30am breakfast, which cost only €3 each. We checked in earlier because of the ferry delay and left later because there was no transport to come back to the capital. We experienced understanding and welcoming each moment of our stay."

"Na místní podmínky velmi dobre ubytovaní. Velmi čisté, postel pohodlná. Hostitelka velmi milá a ochotná. Možnost si zaplatit snídani za 500 cve na osobu nebo večeři za 900cve na osobu. Lokalita je velmi klidna, jen v 4:30 ráno začíná kokrhat kohout. V pokoji byly malé supliky pro odložení prádla."

"Když jsme dorazili později než ostatní ubytovaní z túry došla nám voda na sprchování, což souvisí s tím, že ve vesnici je problém s vodou. Museli jsme počkat, až se dočerpá nová voda. Chyběl mi třeba nějaký věšák na stěně."
