The cottage is really small and stuffy esp when it’s hot. window without mosquito net, thus we cannot leave it open in the nite, too much mosquitos and horse fly.

"Absolutely beautiful peaceful serene location. We were there Oct and it was cold. It must be amazing in the summer. Some issues with check-in. I guess it was off-season, because there were no staff. We needed to call and there was a small delay getting things organised. The room is huge, aircon/heater works well. Kitchen has most things you need. Fridge, microwave, utensils, etc Ensuite bathroom is large and shower is hot. It suited us perfectly."

10am check out is a bit early. We would have liked to stay around another few hours.

"Het uitzicht, de rust, de natuur. Omdat het hotel hoog in de bergen ligt is het echt alsof je in de natuur verblijft. Het uitzicht is niet te omschrijven, zo prachtig is het. Personeel is super aardig en laat je echt thuis voelen. Vooral Lolita is heel erg behulpzaam en hielp ons met net boeken van shuttels van en naar de airport en hielp ze ons met het vinden van een huurauto. Kamers waren ruim en schoon en van alle gemakken voorzien zoals een magnetron, koelkast en eetwaar en bestek."

Ik kan me niks bedenken, alles was top. Als ik iets moet opnoemen is het de rit van en naar het hotel, omdat het zo hoog ligt moet je stijle wegen op. Ik vond dit niet erg en kreeg er juist een kick van. Daar kies je het hotel eigenlijk ook voor, the million dollar view.

The staff give an extremely warm reception, they are super friendly, very helpful and very knowledgeable about the area and what can be done…..if they didn’t know, they knew someone who does. For example, they arranged a night watching the turtles and a guide to walk some local waterfalls. The food was out of this world, fresh and local produce cooked by chefs who’ve been cooking their whole life."

"Het appartement was echt ruim en uiterst charmant en gezellig. De keuken was gerieflijk en goed ingericht. Er was een handige voorraad: koffie, olie, kruiden... De gastvrouw was zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam."

Wij wandelen graag maar we kwamen er al snel achter dat we beter de auto konden gebruiken om ons naar een goed vertrekpunt te begeven. De weg was vrij druk en er was geen plaats voor wandelaars.

"It was like staying at someone’s home. V good, helpful staff and bed was v comfortable. The food was surprisingly decent for such a small place. Picturesque location even though snow was sparse at the time"

Only gripe might be that the air was quite dry, making sleep quality not so good: might be because of it being a wooden bldg

Let goed op de locatie als je geen auto hebt. Op sommige dagen zijn er geen eetgelegenheden op loopafstand.

"Owners very very friendly and helpful . Right next to the path around the lake (use sunscreen if you are going to walk it . 5 hours needed. )Exceptional Value..Owner picked us up from airport and then transferred us to next destination. Highly recommended"

"If you want a peaceful, calm and stunning environment, this is the place. It is simple, but has everything you need in a beautiful setting. Perfect for nature lovers who don't want to be on top of other guests."

Was a bit musty smelling, but after being opened up and aired out and a candle or two it was perfect.

"Zeer mooie, nette, ruime, prachtige kamer en badkamer. Een balkon ter beschikking. Koffie, thee met aangevuld drinkbaar water in de waterkoker reeds om thee te maken. Glazen, bestek broadtoaster en koelkast aanwezig. Mooi opgemaakt bed 2 kussens voor elk. En nog een klein kussen. Kan niet beter. Grote tv Airco ter beschikking voor 1 euro heb je 6uur lang airco. Dichtbij de bushalte om naar centrum la Valetta te gaan. Nabij winkels. Goede locatie! Goede communicatie. Zeer responsieve vriendelijke verhuurster. We raden deze plek zeker aan!"

Voor gebruik van de aiirco moet je muntstukken bijhebben van 1 en/of euro. Wel draait het voor 6 a 8uur. Eens je de deur geopend hebt van het balkon sluit het moeilijk. Als de grote tv nog een chomecast zou hebben is deze plek perfect. Koelkast mag koeler. Voor de rest perfect! We raden deze plek ten sterkste aan. Doe zo verder.

"Het huisje is vrijstaand met veel ruimte eromheen, de ligging is prachtig. Er is een leuk vijvertje met grote libellen en een compostvat achterin de grote tuin. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien. Hoogtepunten: vuurkorf met gratis brandhout, ligstoelen onder een prieel, vrij uitzicht over groen, beekje naast het huis, aardige eigenaar."

Op de foto's zou je het niet zeggen, maar het ligt vrij dicht aan een weg waar wel regelmatig auto's rijden (meer dan we hadden verwacht). We hadden hier verder geen last van. We hadden moeite met de tv maar konden ons goed redden met het prima internet. De slaapkamer is heel klein, dus als de achterste persoon 's nachts eruit moet, zal die over de andere persoon heen moeten klimmen. Vonden wij geen probleem.

"If you are looking for an exceptional place to stay on the Coromandel peninsula, this is it. The Lodge is quite large with everything you could need: kitchenette, couch and TV, comfy bed, large bathroom (tub + huge shower), terrace and the a spectacular view of Whitianga! As you would expect, it was very quiet, and the layout is such that, that you can enjoy total privacy. Carol and Warren were very welcoming and we had a nice chat every morning with Warren as he brought us a lovely breakfast. The road up the lodge is fairly steep but it wasn't an issue at all, so if you have a decent car I wouldn't worry about it. While in our particular case, we didn't have the best weather throughout the stay, we appreciated that the lodge is furnished so as to feel like home, which made for a cozy day in. I could tell that there was a lot of thought put into the furnishing and decorating of the lodge!"
