Lodges op de Malediven

Slechts 1 minpuntje.. er was op dit moment geen warm water ( maar gezien nacht/dagtemperatuur bijna 30 graden voor mij geen probleem)

The other villa R3 was not bad just that it could use some improvements in the spare bedrooms

"Schitterende plek net ietsje buiten het drukke centrum, echter je loopt er binnen 8 minuten naartoe. Het huisje was ruim en van alle gemakken voorzien! Je hebt een beetje het gevoel of je onderdeel uitmaakt van de lokale bewoners: de kindergeluiden en muziek op straat (tot ongeveer 22.00), het vele hondengeblaf en een kakofonie van haaiengekraai in de vroege ochtend. Hier moet je dus wel een beetje tegen kunnen. Er is niet echt een receptie, dus je moet het zelf een beetje uitzoeken, maar dat heeft ook wel weer zijn charme en voelt of het je eigen huisje is."

"Een zéér verzorgde accommodatie op een prachtige camping. Alles is voorhanden, praktische inrichting op een kleine oppervlakte. Uitstekend voor 2 personen en/of een koppel."

Het enigste wat we minsten, was een tafel en twee stoelen om buiten te kunnen eten. Rest geen opmerkingen.

"Mooie ligging aan de rivier, rust. Ruime bungalow. Gezellig restaurant annex zit- en hangruimte."

Sober westers getint ontbijt, niets Aziatisch. Povere verlichting in de bungalow.

"If you are looking for an exceptional place to stay on the Coromandel peninsula, this is it. The Lodge is quite large with everything you could need: kitchenette, couch and TV, comfy bed, large bathroom (tub + huge shower), terrace and the a spectacular view of Whitianga! As you would expect, it was very quiet, and the layout is such that, that you can enjoy total privacy. Carol and Warren were very welcoming and we had a nice chat every morning with Warren as he brought us a lovely breakfast. The road up the lodge is fairly steep but it wasn't an issue at all, so if you have a decent car I wouldn't worry about it. While in our particular case, we didn't have the best weather throughout the stay, we appreciated that the lodge is furnished so as to feel like home, which made for a cozy day in. I could tell that there was a lot of thought put into the furnishing and decorating of the lodge!"

"Het uitzicht, de rust, de natuur. Omdat het hotel hoog in de bergen ligt is het echt alsof je in de natuur verblijft. Het uitzicht is niet te omschrijven, zo prachtig is het. Personeel is super aardig en laat je echt thuis voelen. Vooral Lolita is heel erg behulpzaam en hielp ons met net boeken van shuttels van en naar de airport en hielp ze ons met het vinden van een huurauto. Kamers waren ruim en schoon en van alle gemakken voorzien zoals een magnetron, koelkast en eetwaar en bestek."

Ik kan me niks bedenken, alles was top. Als ik iets moet opnoemen is het de rit van en naar het hotel, omdat het zo hoog ligt moet je stijle wegen op. Ik vond dit niet erg en kreeg er juist een kick van. Daar kies je het hotel eigenlijk ook voor, the million dollar view.

"De gehele gezellige cottage, het uitzicht op de mooi onderhouden tuin en het zwembad. De slaapkamers waren ook zeer gezellig ingericht."

"very good location uphill, very far from street noise. we enjoyed seaview and city lights at horizon, that fara we could see from the highest small house. we got some hammocks up there and were having fun next to the amazing nature whilst chilling on the balcony, thanks to guys who secured our stay"

toilet facilities were not good, requires immediate update

"hele aardige host, Victor. Hij heeft mij opgewacht met zn auto toen ik verkleerd was gereden. En hij heeft in de avond voor mij hamburgers besteld en opgehaald. En in de ochtend deelde hij zn mate met me."

de cabana was dubbel geboekt, dus ik moest in het huis slapen. Maar was ook prima uiteindelijk. Het is goed opgelost. en de douche boven deed het niet, dus ik moest steeds trap op en af.

"This magical place in the hills is owned and run by Thierry who puts a great deal of care, detail and consideration into his guest's stay. His love of the land, plants and animals is evident. Thierry gave us a tour of the property plus an amazing breakfast which included a whole tasting activity with different jams and chocolate / cheese spreads ! The bed was very comfortable. We loved the jucazzi at night whilst stargazing We enjoyed relaxing in the morning looking out over the view."

Please note if you are walking it is a steep climb back up the hill.

"Nous avons adoré l’endroit : un cadre magnifique, très dépaysant et paisible. L’accueil était exceptionnel, le personnel était gentil, serviable et vraiment adorable avec nous. On s’est sentis très bien pendant tout le séjour."

Rien de particulier, tout était vraiment parfait pour nous.

"De mensen van Empyrian stay zijn echt zo hartelijk! Novi, Absy, ‘de burgemeester van Thulusdhoo’, Sinbat en Santosh hebben ons ontvangen alsof we familie zijn. Ze maken een heerlijk Maldivisch ontbijt en zijn bereid om met alles te helpen. Onze zoon was jarig tijdens ons verblijf. Ze regelden een heerlijke taart, zijn bed was prachtig versierd met blaadjes! Ze geven met veel plezier een rondleiding over het eiland waarbij we meteen op de eerste avond al vanaf het land haaien zagen. Ook hebben we gevoetbald met de locals wat erg leuk was. Dit was de fijnste plek van onze rondreis en we waren verdrietig om weg te gaan."
