"Very personal stay. The owner is a bee keeper and I loved seeing the bees home. The bees didn't bother me or my dog at all. Close to shops and cafes."

Absolutely enjoyed our stay. loved listening to her speak of her children. the love in her eye's that that shows for her children and moko's that live in Aotearoa when speaking of them. As well as her belated husband. Thank you so much for everything and opening up your home and making us feel like family I will always remember the aroha that you have shown us whilst our visit to Rarotonga. "Absolutely lovely host, allowed me to check in a bit earlier. Fair way from the city centre but easily connected with trams and buses which wasnt a problem. There was a shopping centre not too far away. Was very comfortable and clean and was able to sleep very well. Not too hot, not too cold. Also has a kitchen."

Honestly nothing to complain about. Entrance is in the alley way and up a spiral staircase.

"The property is in a great location, close to all different kinds of food and walkable to the waterfront. Everything is very clean, quiet and comfortable. The host is lovely and friendly, making us feel very welcome. Facilities are great, and there is a washing machine you can use free of charge. Aircon works well."

The shower is cold, but it’s manageable because it’s so hot.

"This is an excellent small guesthouse and the hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and comfortable. The area is very quiet and Bahir Dar is one of the most beautiful cities in Africa. The hosts, Ashenafi and Habtamu, showed us around and made us feel very welcome."

This is a new guesthouse and they are still getting all the facitilties that a western tourist would expect, but everything important was there including shower, cooking facilities, chairs and tables in the patio and a barbeque!

"This was our second stay, but in the bigger villa. There is plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax. Having everything we needed right there was super convenient. Definitely made the whole trip smoother and more enjoyable. Can't wait to come back again sometime."

Leaving the island.

"Je kan hier van alles: wassen, activiteiten etc. De kamers zijn ruim en de gemeenschappelijke ruimten ook. Ook is de host heel erg behulpzaam en denkt met je mee."

De locatie is matig. De host bedoelt het goed maar af en toe was het een beetje te meedenkend en aanwezig. Daarnaast was het jammer dat gedurende ons verblijf alle activiteiten die we wilden doen niet door konden gaan door ziekte/feestdag. Dan zit je in de middle of nowhere zonder dat je iets kan doen.

"De fietsen waren in goede staat! Eten met lekker glas rode wijn was lekker. Het personeel was wel vriendelijk en de pick up aan de ferry met de scooters is een leuke ervaring."

De eigenaar was enkel beschikbaar via Whatsapp. Dit was heel jammer want van een homestay had ik verwacht dat er een conversatie (ook al is het met behulp van een vertalingsapp) mogelijk is in vivo voor o.a. onze volgende stappen te boeken. Zeker gezien Grab met taxi’s er niet is. Alleen scooters wat niet handig is met twee kinderen en onze rugzakken. Het zwembad dat je op de foto’s ziet is niet in de homestay zelf en een extra kost.
