Pensions op de Bahama's

"Located in a quiet, idyllic location near the town center, it felt like a little retreat every time we returned home. It’s a spacious house which keeps cool due to the tiling and multiple doors you can open. We didn’t need air con in September. We could close the gates so the dogs couldn’t get in, this allowed the kids to play outside. The three year old was so excited to have swings. After time in the outer islands we really needed to freshen up, so the showers and washing machine were helpful. There was good amounts of drying space, the kitchen was fully functional, and we were given our space to enjoy our holiday."

Tonga is super basic so expectations of any accomodation need to keep this in mind.

"De kamer is zeer schoon en het hotel ligt heel centraal in het oude centrum van zurich. Op verzoek waterkoker gekregen, heel fijn."

Er zit een tussendeur tussen twee kamers (in ieder geval in de mijne) om er familiekamers van te kunnen maken. Door deze deur hoor je echt alles van de buren. Misschien zou deze beter geïsoleerd kunnen worden. Verder is het zo schoon dat elke dag je bed afgehaald wordt en je zelf je bed opnieuw moet opmaken. Na een lange drukke dag vond ik dat niet de leukste activiteit. Het is jammer dat er geen minibar is, zeker omdat het een dependance is.

Als je naar de stad wou moest je sowieso de auto nemen. Er is slechts één restaurantje naast het verblijf.

The lighting in the room was terrible. Having said that, they happily provided me with a reading lamp,

"The stay was lovely, nice property owner and hostess. The house was clean and very spacious which I liked."

I wish I could’ve stayed longer. However I wished the shower head had more water power behind it the water ran slowly and it was hard to catch warm and hot water. I would have personally liked air conditioning, however overall it was a nice stay.

"Pick up aan de luchthaven, onthaal, uitleg, rondleiding, ... Allemaal door vriendelijk en enthousiast personeel. Zeer behulpzaam. Kamers waren piekfijn in orde. Alles netjes."

"It is a botanical garden with horses.Everything is beautifully maintained.Breakfast was plentiful and you can stroll around the property for hours."

"De locatie is perfect: middenin het oude centrum en alles op loopafstand. Timur en zijn vrouw zijn ontzettend aardig en laten je thuis voelen. Ze bereiden een geweldig uitgebreid en lekker ontbijt voor je elke ochtend en hij haalde ons op van het station. Het was een hele leuke ervaring om zo bij mensen thuis te slapen."

De matrassen op de bedden zijn wat oud en het gordijn sluit niet helemaal goed.

"De locatie was zeer moeilijk te bereiken wegens grote infrastructuur werkzaamheden. Ik heb toen de eigenaar gebeld (omstreeks 23.30) en hij is me komen ophalen. Aangekomen in het hotel vroeg hij me of ik nog iets wou eten. Hij is dan nog beginnen koken voor mij."

In het plaatsje zelf is niet veel te beleven maar dat kan de locatie niets aan doen.

"Great house with all the equipment you might need, including a microwave and full kitchen tools. The atmosphere was very pleasant, and the host was wonderful—funny, talkative, and always helpful. The location is excellent, close to everything we wanted to see. You can park your car right in front of the house. Clean, quiet, and comfortable. Highly recommended!"

"De host was enorm vriendelijk en gastvrij. We kwamen pas om 4 uur snachts aan bij het verblijf, maar dit was geen enkel probleem en hij ontving ons erg vriendelijk. Het appartement is basic, maar voor een overnachting dichtbij het vliegveld heb je niet meer nodig dan dit."

"De locatie is top - daarnaast is de communicatie met de eigenaar gemakkelijk en ze doen dagelijks hun best om er voor de zorgen dat je een heel fijn verblijf hebt."

De kamers waren relatief warm. Er was een airco in de kamer, maar helaas geen afstandsbediening beschikbaar.

"This is a family recreational resort with some dorms. Mine was inside the main building near the inside pool and table tennis area. The showers and two toilets are those used by the pool guests. I was fortunate to have only one female dorm mate. There are lockers outside in the hallway and you are given a room key. The manager kindly lent me sheets. I liked the location in the woods not far from the pedestrian street."

The kitchen could use some new utensils. There were no cups or glasses, just some plastic cups.

"Hele vriendelijke ontvangst, host heel bubbly en leuk. Goede toegangsweg en lekker rustig met een paar andere huurders naast je."

Veel afval rondom in de struiken, geen buiten zit plaats, keuken niet volledig (alleen maar vorken en geen messen). Het nodigde niet uit om zelf te koken. Wel zeep in de badkamer, geen shampoo. Airconditioning had veel lawaai

De kamers zijn niet zo groot, maar prima te doen

"The views from our room are beautiful. The room was large, clean & comfortable. The hosts are very helpful and friendly."

"Locatie was perfect om Reykjavik te bezoeken. Op 200 meter heb je bushalte Klambratun waar je met buslijn 3(BSI busterminal) of 6 direct in het centrum bent. Lijn 55 brengt je naar de luchthaven. De citycard geeft je trouwens toegang tot gratis openbaar vervoer. Indien je dit niet wenst, wandel je ongeveer 15 minuten tot het centrum. De eigenaars van het guesthouse waren zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ontbijt was eenvoudig maar lekker. Voor ons is die hele poespas 's morgens niet nodig."

Het viel niet echt tegen maar het was een beetje jammer dat je gedurende de dag de koffiemachine niet kan gebruiken. Na een lange wandeling of een uitstap kan een tas koffie deugd doen.

Het had misschien nog iets schoner gekund in de douche en toilet, verder de kamer en bedden wel gewoon lekker schoon

Room didn’t look exactly how it does in the pictures, but was still nice. There were a lot of mosquitoes around though and I did get bitten in the night a lot due to no mosquito net, so make sure you wear repellent. Location is on the opposite side of bikini beach and next to the prison, but as the island is so small it’s still only a 15 minute walk away from the restaurants and main beach, however something to consider.

"Amazing location right on the beach, quiet surroundings yet not too far away from shops, restaurants and the city center. The house was spacious and clean with A.C., a fan and a fully equipped kitchen with fridge. Mr. Dagobert was very kind and welcoming, he also picked us up from the station. Thank you, it was a really nice stay!"

Keep in mind the accomodation is very basic and I think some renovations could be done, for instance our room didn’t have mosquito nets.

"Mooie huisjes met hartelijke vriendelijke eigenaren. Omgeving was prachtig. Heerlijke honing gekocht. Eten was ook heerlijk. Aardappelsoep als voorgerecht, lekker stukje wild met groente en aarappels. En ijs met lekkere aardbeien."

The location was a but challenging, nothing to eat close by or to have a walk, but the owner was driving us everywhere, they were so nice
