Rolson Hotel

"Heel fijn hotel, schone en ruime kamers, lekker eten en een heerlijk zwembad. Het personeel is super vriendelijk en heel erg behulpzaam. Via het hotel hadden wij een tour naar de ATM cave geboekt. Echt een aanrader als je daar bent! Wij vonden het niet heel veel uitmaken of je een kamer aan de kant van het zwembad hebt of eentje met uitzicht op de bergen. Het is allebei even mooi. Wij zouden in het vervolg dus voor de goedkopere optie aan het zwembad gaan. Verder heeft het hotel lekker eten. Wil je naar het centrum voor een hapje eten, dan moet je 20 minuten lopen. Dat vonden wij goed te doen. Het schijnt savonds veilig genoeg te zijn om terug te lopen. Wij kozen er steeds voor om voor het donker terug te zijn. Het enige nadeel was de airco, die maakte veel geluid. Wij hadden de airco snachts uitgezet en dat was met alleen een ventilator prima te doen. Als de airco geen geluid zou maken dan had het hotel van ons een 10 gekregen."

"De kamer met 2 bedden was erg fijn en ook een harde straal in de douche. Personeel was erg behulpzaam en zorgde ervoor dat we eerder in onze kamer konden. Het was nogal een stukje lopen naar het centrum, maar ook het eten bij het restaurant was prima."

"De locatie. 1x op en neer is prima, maar niet meer. 25 min heen en dus ook weer terug. De tour voor de atm grot kwam ons gelukkig ophalen. Er waren geen gezellig plekjes bij het zwembad."

"Provided towels and a face towel, which was great. Food in the evening was lovely. Close to Cahal Pech which is definitely worth a visit."

"The staff were wonderful and helpful, the room was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The onsite restaurant food was excellent and I will definitely be back."

"I would have preferred the room having cable TV as I like watching the news at night but it was not a big deal."

"Rooms are big, clean and comfortable. Rooms have a fridge and coffee machine which is great for keeping your drinks cool and having a coffee early on a morning before tours. The hotel has a nice pool, and a nice restaurant attached. It is in a quiet area close to a couple of supermarkets."

"The property is far from the centre of San Ignacio, if you don’t mind walking its 25 mins from the hotel down hill to the centre of town. However 25 mins up hill is a struggle in the heat, so a taxi is a must most of the time. There is a bus stop where buses from Belmopan to Benque and Benque to Belmopan stop not too far away from the hotel, which is useful if you’re coming from either direction."

"The Rolson Hotel is located on the edge of the town, in a neighborhood near the road to the border. Although the walking distance from the center/bus station to the hotel does not seem long on the map, it takes almost half an hour on the way there, and the return is a bit faster. The road to the hotel goes up considerably! The room was fine; excellent beds and spacious bathroom. You can have breakfast in the restaurant for a reasonable price and we also had a good meal there in the evening. When booking, you can choose between rooms on the pool side and (more expensive) mountain side. It would be good to mention that on the pool side the road runs to the border (with noise from trucks, especially in the morning)."

"The hotel was great and the staff were lovely and really helpful. Our room was big and clean. The staff at the hotel were really accommodating and helped us book in some tours. The restaurant at the hotel had really great food - we ate there most of the time (breakfast, lunches & dinners). It was about a 25min walk down hill to town but you could taxi back for 8-10 Pesos. The pool was relaxing and clean as well. I would stay here again for sure."
