Het Green Elephant Backpackers biedt voordelige accommodatie midden in Observatory, een bruisende studentenwijk van Kaapstad. Het hostel beschikt over een buitenzwembad en barbecuefaciliteiten. Het pension heeft eenvoudig ingerichte accommodaties en slaapzalen met een gedeelde of eigen badkamer. Het beddengoed is inbegrepen bij de kamerprijs. Er is daarnaast een slaapzaal exclusief voor vrouwen. Het hostel verzorgt themadiners, waaronder zelfgemaakte pizza's en kipcurry. Het Green Elephant ligt dicht bij het Groote Schuur Ziekenhuis, pubs, restaurants, openbaar vervoer, winkels en theaters. Het Green Elephant Backpackers heeft een excursiebalie, een bagageopslag en wasfaciliteiten. In de openbare ruimtes kunt u gebruikmaken van gratis WiFi en de tuin is een prettige plek om te ontspannen. Er is tevens een automaat met frisdrank beschikbaar.

"The place is easy to adjust to. There are lots of places to sit and ponder in the yard. Given it takes a form of hostel for most sleeping rooms, rules are strictly enforced. Sometimes you feel like you arein your own room."

"My stay at green elephant backpackers was a truly memorable one. From the minute I walked in to the facility I felt the care and attention to detail from the staff members I encountered. The space was very clean and pleasant. The staff were all very friendly and approachable people, and the room super comfortable. The bed was so comfortable. I truly felt at home. The location is also very convenient, close to most of the amenities one needs, and with the bus and the train station at a walking distance away. It's also very close to Lower main rd which has many venues, Capetown art and culture and night life to explore. One also feels so safe and secure not only in the backpackers itself but also in the community which was a breadth of fresh air as a South African woman. I highly recommend Green elephant if you are open to staying in a calm community and willing to meet interesting new people on your time in the mother city."
