"Heerlijke bedden, gratis gebruik van sauna (vraag om de code en waar de sauna zich bevindt, we konden het zelf niet vinden) en daarna meteen een duik in het meer! Ruime badkamer, alles in de kamer was perfect in orde. Wandeling over het gehele estate is ook zeker aan te bevelen."

"The castle itself is beautiful and I have a connection to the castle as my grandparents met there. The only misleading thing, which after reading other reviews once back home was that you don’t actually get to stay in the castle. Nowhere on booking.com does it state that you don’t stay in the castle so it is misinforming potential customers and seems to marketed as a castle stay."

"We felt extremely unwelcome and uncomfortable upon arrival as we weren’t informed that there would be a concert during our stay. We didn’t visit the castle for the concert and felt that this should have been outlined upon booking so that we could have been prepared for this or booked elsewhere. The grounds were gated off for the concert which was ticket entry which meant that we had to ask multiple people how to actually get to our room as it was very much set up for the concert-goers and not ordinary guests. We were met by an extremely hostile and rude security guard who, after explaining we only wanted to get to our room, demanded to search our bags for alcohol etc. I refused this however he was not allowing us to pass through despite showing our booking information and informing him that we didn’t even know that there was supposed to be a concert on at the time of our stay. Another lady stepped in and said we could enter to get to our room but we felt very unwelcome with that being our first experience of the place. As there were fences cordoning off the concert, we had to essentially walk around them into a bush to reach the path to our room. The noise from the festival was incredibly loud as our room was right behind the stage. The restaurant was closed due to the concert which was yet another disappointment as my partner and I had hoped to enjoy a relaxing countryside stay at the castle where my grandparents had met and have a celebratory meal. We were leaving the grounds to go for dinner in Uppsala and whilst we were walking to our car, the same awful security guard and his colleague were staring at us not letting their eyes stray from us as if we were doing something wrong (which we weren’t). We felt extremely uncomfortable and upset that we were treated as though we didn’t belong there even though we had every right to be as we were paying guests."

"There was a bit of misunderstanding about the restaurant. At the reception we were told that it’s open, inside the restaurant we heard that it’s closed due the bad weather."

"That there was no place to eat, no place to buy food. The restaurants and all kiosks was close. We had not ate any food exept brekfast that day, and had planes that we would have a romantic dinner in your restaurant. We got pretty shocked when the staff told it s that nothing was open. We wanted to cry, because we where SO hungry!!!! We couldnt even get to buy any drinks anywhere, and it was a SO hot day!!!! Luckely we had brought a bottle of wine with us that we could drink. There were also not nice that when we ordered the svite in the castle, you after the booking confirmation calles me up and informed that there had been some mistake, and that you was only able to offer is a one person room. So pur whole stay witch was suppose to be a celebrating of our wedding day, ended in a catastrophe!"

"Breakfast was buffet, with good choice of warm and cold food. Additional orders were possible, maybe due to few guests being in the hotel. Room was very spacious, possibly not all rooms are big as ours was. Recommended to do some walks along the lake shore, and in the woods."

"Very interesting location, close to uppsala for a day trip. Swimming in the lake was great. Dinning al fresco was nice, and they can move in doors during bad weather. The grounds are open to the public and will be used on a nice summer day."
