Samaria Lodge

"Sowieso het personeel; Mark (de eigenaar) vroeg ons iedere dag hoe onze dag was geweest, gaf ons ook steeds erg leuke tips en was erg oprecht. Wanneer we hem bedankte zei hij ons ‘het is men job- geen probleem‘; maar volgens ons doet hij meer dan enkel maar zijn job! Ook zijn gehele team was mega behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Verder vonden we het uitzicht vanuit het hotel ook prachtig en rustgevend. We konden zelfs enkele keren walvissen spotten! Het avondeten is er ook erg verzorgd. Op voorhand gaf je door wat je wou en hoelaat je wou eten; bij aankomst kreeg je dus al na 5 minuutjes je eten. Mega handig! (Dit maakte we anders nooit mee.)"

"Het ontbijt was iets minder vergeleken de andere accomodaties die we al hebben gehad. Naar onze mening vonden we de hoeveelheid erg weinig."

"The host Marc is just amazing and his staff too! He helped us with everything and was very alert and offered great recommendations of what to do and see and great service. Also we loved the facility, the restaurant, and the bungalows and had an overall very good experience. We spent our Christmas holidays there and would definelty come back!"

"Beautiful lodge, far away from the centre if that's something you enjoy. Quiet place. Saw some whales from the garden. The personnel is always available and very friendly. Wifi in the restaurant area worked very well. You can enjoy a free ride once during your stay, to withdraw some money in town. Make sure to ask for conditions and discuss any other prices on transfers, at the beginning of your stay."

"I only enjoyed a lukewarm shower once during my stay. Didn't like the blanket, which was one of those old blankets, but wrapped in a sheet. A duvet would be more pleasant and fit better with how beautiful the rooms are made."

"Very scenic. Beautiful surroundings and landscape. The grounds are well kept. The guest common area is cozy and with plenty of seating. Amazing vast views of the water from every corner. There is also a viewing point towards the back of the restaurant/common guest house if you visit the lodge I highly recommend sitting there to take in the views. The staff is friendly. Food options are also very favorable, recommend the fish and Zebu and everything else. The keepers of the lodge are involved and flexible to accommodate needs and requests."

"This was our second visit to Samaria Lodge and we loved it even more than before. The surroundings are beautiful, it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenery & nature. Attentive staff, always going above & beyond to make sure you are happy. The food is excellent, and the views from breakfast & dinner are breathtaking. Marc the owner is a fantastic host and a lovely guy, and will arrange anything you need. We hope to return again one day."

"This was an exceptionally nice property - beautiful setting, lovely spacious and characterful rooms and exceptional grounds and surroundings. Loved the natural pool and beaches. Owner and staff could not have done more to make my stay a delight."

"Restaurant, terrace and bar area very spacious and comfortable with great views Beautiful rock pool to swim in Very helpful owner (Marc) Lovely bungalows , well spaced out with hammock and deckchairs Beautiful gardens . Perfect place to relax although there are activities on offer !"

"It is 1.5 hours from the airport but pick up is easily arranged and good value . Also nice to be away from the busy area near the airport so not really a disadvantage."
