Maison Lovasoa

"Heel fijn, gezellig hotel. Goede keuken! Rustige kamer (geen geluidsoverlast ondanks zeer centrale ligging), aangename bedden. Warm stromend water in de badkamer. Mooi tuintje. Vriendelijk personeel. Een echte aanrader! Hier komen we terug!"

"1)We ontmoeten er een gids, genaamd Thierry Mbery van 'Soamalaky Malagasy travel", hij werd door een van de personeelsleden verwittigd dat er westerse toeristen waren. Die gids probeerde ons vertrouwen te winnen en vertelde dat hij voor het hotel werkte (wat niet waar is) en meer dan 15j ervaring heeft (via WWF), vervolgens heeft hij ons opgelicht. We boekten een toer naar het Westen (tsiribihina river + Morondava). Hij volgde de planning niet (dus we bezochten niet de beloofde nationale parken), we kregen andere goedkopere hotels en op dag 4 van de trip was al het geld al op, terwijl we voor 6 dagen "all in" betaald hadden (helft op dag 1 en andere helft op dag 3)! Betaal nooit op voorhand! . Hij beloofde de kosten van dag 5 en 6 terug te betalen maar had altijd een smoes en tot op heden hebben we nog niets ontvangen... Achteraf hebben we contact opgenomen met het hotel Lovasoa (waar we deze man ontmoet hadden) en ze reageerden erg begripvol en zeiden dat deze gids niets met het hotel te maken heeft. Maar let dus op met gidsen, en zeker met deze man! 2) Er zijn vrij veel trappen vooraleer je het hotel bereikt, dus niet ideaal voor mensen die slecht te been zijn."

"Maison Lovasoa was my quiet hub in a very busy city. The location between the market and central area and the historic quarters is excellent. One of hotel's employees Fy went out of his way to provide warm welcome and solve all the bigger and minor problems and requests - from changing money and calling a taxi to planning a trip and looking after my things when I was away. You may ask his advice and assistance on travel around Madagascar, he'll be eager to help. All in all, the hotel's old mansion is a nice corner I recommend to stay in Antananarivo."

"The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was good and simple, with delicious jams. The room had everything you need – towels, hairdryer, soap – and a hot shower. We only stayed one night and had a great experience."

"Lovely hotel in haut ville, with great views of the city. Because of the elevated and quiet location I wasn’t bothered by any pollution which was a relief. Beautiful garden to have breakfast in, and I appreciated the art work in the hotel representing elements of Malagasy culture."
