Residentie Edvards is in 2008 geopend en wordt beheerd door een familie. Het ligt in een stilistisch gedeelte in het centrum van Riga, op slechts 3 stratenblokken van de historische binnenstad. Het congrescentrum van Riga bevindt zich op slechts 600 meter afstand en het is 2 km naar de Arena Riga. Er is gratis WiFi in de accommodatie beschikbaar. De suites van het Edvards zijn ingericht in warme kleuren en beschikkend over een kabel-tv, een minibar en een eigen badkamer met een douche en vloerverwarming. Er wordt elke ochtend een continentaal ontbijt geserveerd en er zijn de hele dag door koffie, thee en andere drankjes verkrijgbaar. Door de gunstige locatie van het verblijfplaats, bereikt u gemakkelijk de nabijgelegen musea, galeries, trendy winkels, restaurants, cafés, de Arena Riga en het Skontostadion. Het hotelstructuur is gevestigd in een 19e-eeuws gebouw dat in 2008 is gerenoveerd. De historische bouwstijl is behouden, maar er zijn moderne gemakken gecreëerd. De slaapvertrekken zijn rustgevend en hebben een gezellige sfeer. Het Vrijheidsmonument van Riga bevindt zich op 750 meter afstand.

"Leuk hotel met fijne, schone en moderne kamers. Het personeel geeft graag meer informatie over de stad en is ook heel aanspreekbaar. Zowel te voet als met het ov is de binnenstad van Riga vlot te bereiken, maar dwaal zeker ook eens in de omliggende straten rond."

"Kleinschalig hotel in een fijne buurt. De eigenaren zijn uitermate vriendelijk. Een goed verzorgd ontbijt met ruime keuze. Je voelt je er snel thuis. Onze kamer had een extra zitkamertje wat erg fijn was. Kamer is lekker ruim. Ligt net achter de drukke weg zodat je niet het verkeer voor de deur hebt. Genoeg leuke restaurantjes in de directe omgeving. De oude stad ligt op loopafstand."
"Het hotel is wat gedateerd. Zou wel wat vernieuwing kunnen gebruiken, zoals nieuwe vloerbedekking maar ook betere bedden en ander meubilair. Wij hadden een klein balkon maar het appartement ernaast komt op hetzelfde balkon uit. Dat is qua privacy niet erg prettig. Een schermpje ertussen zou beter zijn. De stoeltjes zijn niet prettig om lang op te zitten."

"Kamer was wat gedateerd, moesten meteen bij aankomst betalen en dat voelde wat direct. Verder stond op Booking.com dat er sprake was van openbaar parkeren in de buurt, terwijl er wel een privé-parkeerterrein bleek te zijn: toen hadden wij de auto echter al in een parkeergarage gezet, dus dat was wat onhandig."
"Great stop at this excellent hotel. Friendly staff who were most helpful. Room was clean, comfortable and covered the basic needs for a stop. Excellent bed. Breakfast was also first rate with plenty of choice. Secure parking for our motorcycles. A good hotel which we would use again."

"Gateway is very narrow for the car ( I bruised it slightly). Breakfast is quite basic but was enough, coffee - excelent. Clogged drainage in the shower."

"Excellent location. Very well equipped. Nice, large bathroom. And we were greeted with champagne! In addition, the host is very responsive and quick to get in touch. Great place for up to 3 people! There were four of us and we stayed there for over a week, most nights just two or three of us slept there. The couple nights though, when all four of us slept in the accommodation, became very cramped, but the host warned us about it, although a few nights are not a big problem. In any case, I would not recommend to take this apartment longer for a night or two, if you are 4 people, and all of you plan to actually sleep there, and good night sleep is what you are seeking for - otherwise - one of the finest choices to explore Valmiera to the fullest! :)"

"I loved everything about this place, location is perfect, if you're traveling by train or autobus 10-15 mins walk maximum. You don't have to worry about groceries, small mini-mart is 3 mins walk away with everything you may need, If you arrive late and the mini mart is closed,you can always grab something to eat at Circle-K gas station open 24hrs. If your stay is short and you want to explore Valmiera, you may have to come again, because once you enter the apartment, you won't want to go outside. It's so nice and cozy and equipped with everything. On my stay I didn't go outside once. I highly recommend this place."
