"This is a really lovely place to stay. Beautiful location right by the mighty Mekong. The cafe/ restaurant is open all day and serves great food, coffee and drinks. Our room was fabulous - spacious and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful and the room was cleaned every day. Highly recommend."

"We loved everything. However, It’s a 15 to 20 minute walk from the main restaurants and bars. It’s a great walk along the river in the light or at sunset. But you should budget for Tuk tuks or taxis to bring you home after dark or if you want to avoid the strong afternoon heat."

"The location by the Mekong River is excellent, with the restaurant terrace riverside, offering a great place to eat, drink and relax looking over the shimmering river over to Mukdahan, Thailand The restaurant food and service also very good, and reasonably priced. The rooms are adequately equipped, and clear with daily room service as required."

"If you are staying at the Pilgrim on a Sunday, the restaurant is closed all day, meaning no breakfast, or any food service at all. This is quite a negative point, as it’s also not easy to find alternative places to eat, particularly breakfast, as many other restaurants in the area are also closed on Sunday, or do not open up until late morning. I strongly recommend that the owners of Pilgrim take note of this and at least offer a breakfast service say 8 am until 10 am on Sundays."
