Dit historische gebouw in Arabische stijl ligt in de door UNESCO beschermde stad Lamu. Het ligt op minder dan 300 meter van de strand en op 3 km van het witte zandstrand. De lichte slaapvertrekken van het Subira House hebben een patio of een balkon en sommige leveren horizon op zee en gratis WiFi. Elke kamer heeft een ventilator, een zithoek en een eethoek. U kunt elke dag waarderen een gratis ontbijtbuffet in het eetgelegenheid. Het culinaire wereld serveert een scala aan gezonde biologische gerechten. Lunchpakketten en roomservice zijn op verzoek beschikbaar. Deze milieuvriendelijke accommodatie heeft een bibliotheek en een tuin met een zonnig terras, en biedt massages en kinderopvang. Activiteiten in de omgeving zijn onder andere snorkelen, zwemmen met walvishaaien, kanoën, yoga en een dagtocht naar onze cultuurboerderij Perma. De luchthaven Lamu ligt op minder dan 3 km van de accommodatie, maar is alleen bereikbaar per boot.

"Prachtige plek met veel zit hoekjes, comfortabele kamers. Het personeel was super vriendelijk en behulpzaam."

"Ongelooflijk mooi, imposant herenhuis (in oude centrum, direct achter het fort) met veel historie en een exotische, artistieke styling. Alle bezienswaardigheden en strand op loopafstand. Allerliefste ontvangst door eigenaren Christina & Paul en manager Mohamed. Geweldige service van de staf en heerlijke diners (optioneel) aan feestelijke tafel. De eco-visie wordt hier oprecht gevoeld en uitgedragen. Vraag om rondleiding op de boerderij, waar permacultuur wordt gepraktiseerd. Erg de moeite waard! Wandel daarna terug naar Subira House via de stranden en je hebt een top-dag! Ik zou heel, héél graag terugkomen op mijn volgende reis naar Kenia!"

"My room was lovely but someone who is very sensitive to heat may prefer to request a room on the shadier side of the house. Great location in the heart of the old town but beware that this means you will hear the call to prayer emanating from nearby mosques- ear plugs may help!"

Also the hotel itself is beautiful, rooms are nice and comfortable, location is perfect and the people of Lamu are so friendly. We will be back someday for sure."
