Hostels in El Salvador

"De locatie was geweldig we hadden een prive kamer met douch met geweldig uitzicht. Het personeel is geweldig aan de receptie die ons heeft geholpen met de was service en boven een leuke man aan de bar waar je kan genieten van prachtig uitzicht."

De kamers zijn wat gehorig. Maar als je kijkt naar de prijs en het uitzicht van deze kamer maakt dat echt niets uit. Ik ga zeker nog eens terug.

"De locatie was een droom. Een onvergetelijke ervaring. De eigenaar, Sulejman, is zeer vriendelijk en is duidelijk trots op zijn accommodatie. Tip: zeg ja als hij voorstelt om de zonsondergang te bekijken!"

Het was perfect.

"Sociaal, schoon hostel van alle gemakken voorzien. De eigenaar is geweldig. Heb hier een aantal leuke mensen ontmoet. Goede locatie ook."

We kwamen 's avonds aan en hun restaurant dat ik kende van enkele jaren geleden bestond niet meer. Het motor verhuur is niet meer ter plaatse zoals voorheen maar is goed georganiseerd

"Everything. The place is beautiful, super cozy, and very clean. You can really feel the love and attention to detail everywhere. The chill areas are great to relax, and the breakfast was more than decent. Amélie, the owner, is an amazing host – so kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. Her Auberge is truly a dream."

The only small downside was the location being a bit far from the central bus station, but that’s just a personal preference and didn’t affect the overall great experience.

De ligging was verder uit het centrum dan ik ingeschat had. Openbaar vervoer is niet zo best.

Toilet room very cold in winter but you don't spend a long time in it anyway, lol. Mattress could be a bit better but nothing that prevented a good night's sleep.

"Great place to stay in Noukchott. The place itself is beautiful, and in a nice neighbourhood within walking distance to anything you'd want to see. The bungalows are cosy and comfortable. Great hot showers and good buffet breakfast. Contrary to some other uncharitable reviews, I found the young guys working there to be helpful and pleasant. Sebastien the owner gives great travel advice. 10/10, would repeat!"

"Superschoon! Heel aardig, behulpzaam personeel. Grote keuken met ruime koelkast. Erg leuk aangekleed. Per bed op slaapzaal eigen lampje, locker, leesplankje, gordijntje, kapstok. Zeer goed georganiseerd, met één nummer voor je schoenenkastje, je keukenkastje, je locker. Aparte badkamer met wc voor vrouwen, heel fijn! Van te voren goede informatie van eigenaar gekregen."

De matrassen zijn aan vervanging toe, 2 van de 3 waarop ik gelegen heb zakken door, zitten kuilen in. Een aparte vrouwenslaapzaal zou een goede aanvulling zijn (want helaas snurkten alle mannen op de mixed dorms).

"Het personeel helpt je graag en denkt graag met he mee, als je hulp nodig hebt met navigeren of busritjes of iets dergelijks. Het geeft een erg huiselijk gevoel om daar binnen te zijn. Je kan gezellig wat drinken ook het personeel doet gezellig mee. Daarnaast doen ze ook pubcrawls en eten gezellig samen als je daar behoefte aan hebt."

Laat in de avond had ik wat hulp nodig van het personeel maar kon ik ze nergens vinden. Uiteindelijk heb ik het zelf opgelost, verder was het echt prima en heb ik erg genoten van mijn verblijf daar

Ik had een eigen kamer met douche en toilet geboekt, maar er kwam geen warm water uit de douche. De vorige twee keer dat ik hier verbleef, was dat ook zo.

"De eigenaar is zeer flexibel, ondanks dat er iets misgegaan was door onze schuld met de boeking en hij dus eigenlijk gesloten was konden wij toch overnacten."

"We verbleven in een tweepersoonskamer met eigen badkamer. De kamer was schoon, netjes en comfortabel. We konden onze motorfietsen goed en veilig parkeren binnen het hek. Het was leuk andere reizigers te ontmoeten die ook in het hostel verbleven. De prijs-kwaliteit verhouding was erg goed!"

"Leuk om weer terug te zijn. De gastvrijheid en het sociale contact net andere gasten. Elke mogen wandelde ik met de 2 honden die in de kennel achter het katten verblijf zitten naar het strand"

De waterdruk van de wastafel en af en toe de douche

"It's a cozy hostel with a nice common area, warm shower, enough space everywhere, a small breakfast included, in a nice neighbourhood more relaxed than Old Dhaka, and reasonably close to the metro into the city centre (walkable, or take a rickshaw). It's also close enough to the airport and railway station (by tuktuk or Uber). It has nice restaurants nearby, coffee places and Western fastfood options if you're into that. It is well worth the price of a bed, and probably the only good option in the country if you are a solo traveler/backpacker and you want to meet other travelers. Armin, who manages the Hostel, is a friendly, easy-going guy, and helpful."

The mattresses are a little thin, but to be honest, that was the case in most places in Bangladesh. Don't expect the Hilton when it comes to cleanliness, and you'll be fine.
