The guesthouse itself is spotless, the location ideal — I can only say everything was perfect."

"Wat een goede plek! Genet zorgde voor een zachte landing in het drukke Addis Abeba. Wat een fijn mens. Wijs, oprecht en authentiek. We genoten van de heerlijke ontbijtjes met haar en de gesprekken die we hadden. Genet zorgde voor vervoer vanaf het vliegveld, een gids, belde ride voor ons, zorgde voor een telefoonkaart en tipte Fendika cultureel centrum (voor ons het hoogtepunt van het bezoek aan de stad). Het enige nadeel is dat het guesthouse vrij ver van het centrum ligt. Zeker in de spits ben je lang onderweg. Genet, Martha en Sofia, thank you very much."

"We hadden 2 nette, schone, ruime kamers met airco én fan en muskietennet. Ruime badkamer met aparte wc en douche cel met heerlijke warm water en goede straal. Ook een overdekt zitje buiten voor de kamer. Wel veel muggen. Niet gehorig! Vriendelijke eigenaar. Guesthouse zit midden in Hikkaduwa, vlakbij de zee en winkels en restaurants. Een echte aanrader."

"Voortreffelijk ontbijt. Veel keus, typisch Pools. De eigenaar bakte 's nachts taart. Leuk om samen 's morgens aan 1 grote tafel te zitten met de overige gasten. 's morgens erg vroeg weer vertrokken naar huis. Ze hadden een compleet ontbijt in een tas klaar gezet voor ons."

In het plaatsje zelf is niet veel te beleven maar dat kan de locatie niets aan doen.

"Pick up aan de luchthaven, onthaal, uitleg, rondleiding, ... Allemaal door vriendelijk en enthousiast personeel. Zeer behulpzaam. Kamers waren piekfijn in orde. Alles netjes."

"De locatie was zeer moeilijk te bereiken wegens grote infrastructuur werkzaamheden. Ik heb toen de eigenaar gebeld (omstreeks 23.30) en hij is me komen ophalen. Aangekomen in het hotel vroeg hij me of ik nog iets wou eten. Hij is dan nog beginnen koken voor mij."

Room didn’t look exactly how it does in the pictures, but was still nice. There were a lot of mosquitoes around though and I did get bitten in the night a lot due to no mosquito net, so make sure you wear repellent. Location is on the opposite side of bikini beach and next to the prison, but as the island is so small it’s still only a 15 minute walk away from the restaurants and main beach, however something to consider.

"The bed was comfortable and the room spacious. The bathroom was old but the hot water worked well. There was a fridge. Overall a decent stay."

The toilet leaked all over the bathroom floor. It feels a bit out of town but only a short drive away.

"It is a botanical garden with horses.Everything is beautifully maintained.Breakfast was plentiful and you can stroll around the property for hours."

"Amazing location right on the beach, quiet surroundings yet not too far away from shops, restaurants and the city center. The house was spacious and clean with A.C., a fan and a fully equipped kitchen with fridge. Mr. Dagobert was very kind and welcoming, he also picked us up from the station. Thank you, it was a really nice stay!"

Keep in mind the accomodation is very basic and I think some renovations could be done, for instance our room didn’t have mosquito nets.

"Het hotel is echt midden in het centrum, het is dan ook super fijn dat je je bagage in een bagageruimte kan leggen. Wat een top locatie midden in de stad maar wel net buiten de drukte."
