Kuurala apartment

"Markku is een voortreffelijke gastheer. Voor de reis al contact met hem gehad en een aantal vragen gesteld over activiteiten. Alles is perfect geregeld. Vriendelijke man met heel.veel kennis over de omgeving en de natuur. Op zoek naar het noordelicht hadden wij maar een klein lichtje. Toch was het een hele ervaring om met Markku bij -31 gr 4 uur lang onderweg te zijn in zijn zelf gemaakte slee. Lekker Fins gegeten. Ik zou zo weer terug gaan en aldaar verblijven. Ligt ongeveer 15 km van Rovaniemi op ideale afstand van het vliegveld (10 min). Huurauto is wel handig."

"Zeer vriendelijke en betrokken gastheer Markku. voorzag in alles en communiceerde heel erg goed. Veel kennis en informatie over gebied en activiteiten hetgeen in een toeristisch gebied als Rovaniemi zeer waardevol is. Hij heeft ons zelfs met de sneeuwscooter meegenomen op noorderlicht safari ( zie foto's) en we hebben buiten kunnen bbq'en op open vuur waarbij hij hout, aanmaakblokjes, rendierhuiden om op te zitten heeft geregeld. Appartement en faciliteiten zijn verder allemaal ook helemaal op orde en de ligging net buiten het centrum is ideaal. Wij zouden er zo terug gaan!"

"Echt van alle gemakken voorzien! Prachtige ligging! Vriendelijke eigenaar! Heel veel te doen in de omgeving. Een huurauto is handig. Super vakantie gehad!!"

"*The Host* ...an absolute gem. Markku ran through all the info we needed to run the house. He was so down to earth and so lovely!!! Not only that,but when the Northern Lights were peaking above the house,he got in touch straight away to tell us! 10/10 for this man! The apartment was lovely and cosy,far enough outside the city so that we had the most marvelous view of the NL. It was ideal for the kids with outdoor and indoor toys,loads to keep them occupied. We could also walk to the Husky and deer farm,it was so close. I would go back in the morning to stay The squirrels!!"

"Everything was incredible. Perfect location, just a 5 - 10 minute taxi ride from most places but you felt like you were in the middle of nowhere. Peaceful, surrounded by nature and just a beautiful house. We can't wait to come back"

"Kuurala truly felt like a home away from home. From the very beginning, Markku and Vappu were incredibly kind and welcoming. They were always happy to help and never hesitated to share tips and local advice. The apartment is cozy, comfortable, and well prepared with everything we need. Our toddler didn’t want to leave, and honestly, neither did we! The forest setting is beautiful, and there’s a great spot to see the northern lights just about 10 minutes away. Markku even made an outdoor fireplace and shared stories with us, which turned into a truly memorable experience. Another big difference, especially in winter, was the clothes dryer. After being outside in the snow, having a proper drying machine was incredibly helpful and practical. We left with beautiful memories and would love to come back."

"Spacious. Beautiful rural, natural location. Host had bird feeders that attracted birds, squirrels and hares. Host was amazing. My children got sick and he came with a thermometer. He offered to go get medicine. He was so kind and informative about local geography, history, culture etc. On our last night he knocked on our door to let us know the aurora were out! We forgot a bag and he posted it to us in Ireland! Very kind!"

"Loved everything. But a recommendation would be that you rent a car for ease of transport. Taksi were brilliant, very good service, but about €40 to the city one way. Next time we will definitely stay in this accommodation again but we'll rent a car. The roads are very good."

"One word INCREDIBLE!!! We have just returned for staying at Kuurala apartments and we really didn't want to leave.. This property & its surrounds are stunning , we have travelled all over the world and this place takes sone beating.. The host / owner Marku was amazing so helpful & couldn't do enough.. The apartments are cosy, warm have everything you could need a great touch with the sauna after a dsy in the snow.. The outside area is so beautiful & watching wildlife from your bed with a coffee was unforgettable... We can not recommend enough loved everything about it . Our only negative not booking longer here we could of stayed sooo much longer :) Thank you Marku and family"

"A wonderful home with all the amenities you require plus sauna as an added bonus. Marku the host is excellent with updates prior and during our stay. The home is literally 5 mins drive to Santa Claus Village and 15 mins to Rovaniemi city centre. It's a perfect location if you wish to be just of a commercial area and into a bit of the wilderness. A tranquil and idyllic place to stay with your family very spacious."
