"We hebben een heerlijke tijd gehad in het prachtige appartement Darwins tempel! Zowel het appartdment als de tuin is prachtig en elke dag ligt er vers fruit voor je klaar. Er zijn twee lieve honden, katten en zelfs twee jonge eendjes! De host was heel erg behulpzaam, we waren onze pinpas vergeten op een ander eiland en konden alleen met onze telefoon betalen wat niet heel handig was... om van het eiland af te komen moet je namelijk een taxiboot nemen die je naar je ferry brengt, maar uiteraard accepteren ze alleen cash. De host dacht met ons mee naar oplossingen, en heeft ons uiteindelijk zelfs het geld gegeven! Nogmaals heel erg bedankt en we raden het iedereen zeker aan om hier te boeken."

"Just FYI: I have to mention that on booking.com's site, it says 1.3 km from center. It's not. It's about 6-7kms away. You need a taxi to go to the place (4usd) and when going to town, it's 75cents. It's actually easy to get transport except when you have to get the morning ferry. You have to advise the property to get you one in the morning. If you know this ahead of time, this property is super!"

"We loved staying here. The apartment is located in the beautiful garden of an estate, the family living there was exceptionally hospitable. We would get fresh fruits in the morning and were invited to have coffee at the family table. When we forgot a wallet in a taxi, they called everybody they knew to successfully retrieve the lost wallet. The apartment has everything you need and was clean."

"The estate is located outside of the town, so you have to take a cab to get there. One trip costs 4$ but it didn't bother us too much because we would spend the days at the town anyway. You can also take the cheap bus or hitchhike easily."

"Really friendly hosts who offered to pick us up from Puerto Baquerizo and gave us some bananas on arrival! The cabin is cute and perfect for two people with a lovely garden as surroundings. Great value for money and with some self catering provisions."

"As other reviews mention, the village El Progreso is around 10 minutes drive from the main town of Puerto Baquerizo but it's really easy to get a taxi just outside the house which costs 75 cents when going into town and USD 4 to return from town to the accommodation."

"Lovely family-run accomodation in San Cristobal. A spacious, clean and quiet apartment in the beautiful green garden. I felt very well here. The owner picked me up at the airport, he was very friendly and helpful with everything. The accomodation is a bit outside the main town, but easily accessible with taxi or bicycle. A great price-value. I enjoyed my stay here and can highly recommend Darwin's Temple. :-)"

"The host and his family were so welcoming and helpful throughout our trip. We were welcomed into their home and they helped us with things to do and tours which we really appreciated. The home is a peaceful oasis it’s a little far from town but so easy to get a taxi - but their home is special and a nice place to go to unwind and relax after a long day of trips. Incredible stay !"

Although the community of El Progreso doesn’t offer the same services as the town does, there’s a lot of cheap or free services offered by the community. "Very nice, comfortable room in a charming setting. The yard and garden is well cared for and I really enjoyed the peace and quiet here. The owners were exceptionally welcoming and helped me to plan drivers and activities. The taxi into town is inexpensive ($4) and well worth it to get away from the noise and commotion of the main town. I wish I could have stayed longer!"
