Landhuizen op Malta

"Fijn hotel in het prachtige Cayo district. Oase van rust. Prachtig uitzicht. Schoon, elke dag housekeeping dus een opgeruimde kamer en opgemaakt bed. Zeer vriendelijk gasgericht personeel. Wij verbleven in huisje vier, hadden veel privacy. Goed bed, complete keuken, ruime badkamer. Mogelijkheid om ontbijt en diner te bestellen (zelf klaarmaken), heel fijn na een lange reis. Alles klopt. Mooi zwembad met uitzicht op dr jungle. Mooier dan op de foto’s."

Kleine tip, zorg voor kussens op de stoelen voor het huis, het hout zit erg hard. Verder zitten er bijtende mieren in het gras, dus als de stoelen op een terrasje gezet zouden worden, heb je daar geen last van.

We zijn niet gewend aan slapen op een futon, het voelt als op een harde vloer slapen. Maar erg leuk dit te ervaren! 😃

"Peaceful riverside haven with a shaded terrace and deck opposite the cliffside Lycian tombs, which are lit up at night. The perfect place to relax. Close to shops, restaurants, cafes, bars etc. Our obliging host arranged a trip down stream to the beach on the public boat, which picked us up at our landing. On site parking a bonus."

"Kamer is brandschoon, goed betaalbaar op een groot vakantiecomplex. Airco werkt. Ruime menukaart. Ik was de enige gast op het hele terrein, dat was bijzonder maar er komen voornamelijk groepen. Rustige plek. Vietnamees matras."

Sluit de dieren niet op aub. Ik weet dat ze er vast wel uit mogen af en toe maar het is niet nodig (kat).

"De locatie: dichtbij de stad en de bezienswaardigheden en toch een groene oase. Mahmoud was erg behulpzaam. Wij hebben voor het gemak gekozen en veel door hen laten regelen (taxi / boot naar de oostkant, luchtballon etc). Dat was heel prettig. De lokale ferry naar de overkant is goedkoper maar wij waren slechts kort in Luxor, dus kozen we voor gemak. De sfeer in het resort is echt relaxed; heerlijk diner en heerlijk ontbijt. Savonds kampvuur, lekker warm in de winter! Wij verbleven daar met onze kinderen en je bent binnen 10 minuten bij de Valley of the Kings, maar ook binnen 10 minuten bij de Nijl."

Eigenlijk viel niets tegen. Enige opmerking was het koude water in het zwembad. Maar wij waren er in de winter, dus dat is niet zo gek.

Some of the staff ( not all) are rude. It is connected with their lifestyle and misunderstandings which appear when people ask for some things. Some do not understand that in a room there needs to be evth for eating and drinking even if a person eats out. In the best room of the new building still there is no fridge inside the room. However, the place for it exists as the furniture provided has particular space for it. The communication problems may occur so it is better to negotiate every single detail as the view of the relax may differ.

"Prima plek om te overnachten. Het is een appartement bij een huis, midden tussen de olijf- en granaatappelbomen. Je krijgt een duidelijk instructie hoe je er met de auto naartoe moet rijden. 's Avonds en 's ochtends prima gegeten. Eigenaresse is heel vriendelijk. Van harte aanbevolen."

"This is not a standard hotel or gite or whatever, this is a special place. Expect no luxury here, this is not what Karims guesthouse is about. It is about being in a small village and in nature. Basically, this is as close to a home stay as you can book on Booking. You can choose a room or the stilted house (recommended) in a garden full of interesting plants. Your water comes from a well or the river, your coffee directly from the bushes around you, and the food from...actually I don't know where, but it is amazing. One of the Kpime waterfalls is just a short, but nice walk away, and you can roam the village or take a long walk to Yikpa waterfall (~4 h one way). And when you come back, you lay in a hammock with a fresh and local cocoa or sit in the garden. And the best, you don't need to be in Kpalime, with all the chaos, noise, and smells. Although it is something different, I really enjoyed my stay. Karim is a fantastic host and La montagne verde exactly my type of stay."

Just be aware what you are booking, and there is nothing negative about it.
