El Arbol Hostel

"Het hostel is gelegen op een ideale locatie ten opzichte van het strand, het stadscentrum en nabij een grote supermarkt. De bedden zijn comfortabel en erg cosy en ook de binnentuin is super aangenaam! Verder was de huishoudster zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam!"

"De keuken is erg klein, waardoor met meer dan één persoon koken niet mogelijk was en er dus wel enige flexibiliteit nodig was. De koelkast zat ook overvol met zaken die van reizigers waren die er volgens mij niet meer waren... Verder is het jammer dat de ramen van de dorm niet volledig open kunnen doordat de bedden ertegen gezet zijn, waardoor het smorgens vaak muf was in de kamer. In het sanitair grenzend aan de dorm was vaak vuil en de vloer steeds nat..."

"Ik kwam aan nadat de receptie gesloten was en had een uitgebreide beschrijving ontvangen van hoe ik het hostel kon betreden. Het personeel is ontzettend vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het gebouw zelf doet heel gezellig aan en is op loopafstand van het busstation en het centrum."

"This hostel is located in an old beautiful villa near the old city center of La Serena. The staff is really helpful and friendly here. They organizing a lot of activities like whale watching or star gazing tours. You can also rent a bike here to discover the more outside part of the city. We spent only one night here but we loved it. The breakfast is also great here. 😋"

"It’s a hostel so a shared bathroom can be sometimes a bit annoying ( specially in “rush hours” ) 😅 But that’s it."

"It's a cosy little hostel near the main square and not too far from the bus station and a big supermarket. The atmosphere is friendly and staff is helpful. The beds are comfortable, there are lockers and it was always clean. There's a small backyard where you can sit outside."

"The kitchen is quite tiny and the fridge needs cleaning more often. When I arrived, there was hardly any space in the fridge. It turned out that there was old food from people who had left long ago and the food was already going bad."

"They are cash only and the common areas are close to the rooms so it can be a little noisy from other guests."

"Excellent hostel. Very clean. Very friendly. I suppose I was lucky that I got a cheap upgrade to a better room on a quiet day. Very close to the bus station. If you are coming to la swrena you really must go to valle de elqui, vicuna, star gazing, downhill cycling, guayacan brewery."

"There were guests at the gate asking me to open the gate after hours. I was confused and uncomfortable. Not sure what the instructions are but they may not be cleared."

"Nice location, good bedrooms (although a bit tiny when all beds are occupied) and also sanitary facilities were fine. Breakfast was included and all for a very reasonable price."

"The kitchen is sufficiently equiped but really tiny, so if one person is cooking it's difficult to use any part of the kitchen. But this just requires a bit of planning and some flexibility."
