Het sfeervolle Stiftung Kartause Ittingen bestaat al 800 jaar en is een voormalig Charterhouse-klooster in Warth. Deze unieke plek beschikt over een doolhoftuin, een eigen zuivelfabriek en een eetgesitueerdheid. Op het uitgestrekte terrein van het Kartause Ittingen staat een zuivelfabriek, die 6 verschillende soorten kaas, yoghurt, boter en room produceert. Gasten kunnen deze producten in het nieuwste generatiee eetcafé binnen de historische muren proeven. Het klooster maakt tevens haar eigen wijn. De designe suites hebben de kloosterlijke eenvoud behouden en zijn voorzien van een badkamer, een televisie en gratis vast internet. Veel van de verblijven beschikken over een balkon met visueel spektakel over het eigen park. Het kunstmuseum van het kanton Thurgau en het Ittinger Museum liggen beide in hetzelfde gebouw. Gasten kunnen wandelen en joggen door de grote tuinen en parken. Het is tevens mogelijk om in de tuin te schaken.

"Kartause Ittingen is a truly special place. The old monastery site has a cluster of beautiful buildings, lovely grounds and is perched high on the valley side such that there are fantastic views all day long. I walked up the steep hillside vineyards one morning and it was magical. The breakfast and evening meals were healthy, with lots of variety and high quality. The room was minimalistic, with clean lines, gorgeous furnishings and beautiful materials (lots of natural wood). Also loved that they had a book on steps to reduce your environmental footprint in each room. Hats off, Kartause Ittingen!"

"The nature around is very nice, a lot of green and beautiful scents. I am sorry we didn't get to explore all the surroundings as we didn't have time. But the garden is a joy to the eye. The food was delicious and many of the ingredients were locally sourced. Very nice surprise this accomodation!"
